Design Tips
Scabiosa adds a wild and natural element to floral creations, adding wonderful texture. It can be used as a focal or secondary flower to complement a mixed arrangement. Be sure to hydrate well prior to designing and create arrangements as close to event as possible to keep flowers fresh. Use FloraLife® Finishing Touch spray to keep flowers fresh and hydrated.
Ethylene Sensitivity
Sensitivity to ethylene can vary by variety. However, overall Scabiosa are highly sensitive to ethylene. Exposure can lead to floret shattering, poor opening, premature wilting, and leaf yellowing. Scabiosa naturally produces high amounts of ethylene.
Pest & Disease Information
Scabiosa is susceptible to botrytis when packed too tightly during shipping. Allow good airflow to avoid the development of botrytis.
Troubleshooting
Use anti-ethylene treatment and limit storage time to a maximum of 5 days. Avoid storing flowers for long periods, particularly if flowers are kept dry.
