Flowers are 1-2 inches (2.5-5 cm) across, with 3 colored sepals, 2 petals and a 3rd petal forming a lip, a spur extends from the back of the flower. Flowers are arranged in a spike. Stems are 12-24 inches (30-60 cm) long bearing up to 15 flowers. Flowers have some fragrance. Flower colors are white, pink, purple, green, and yellow.

What to Look for When Purchasing
Dendrobiums should be purchased when at least two flowers per spike are open, or fully open if the bloom is purchased individually. Look for perky flowers that are free of discoloration, spotting and brown tips. Check the flowers for any damage when you receive them.
Vase life shorter than in vases.
Dendrobiums can be used alone or mixed with other flowers or tropicals and foliages for a dynamic look. Blooms are often used in wedding designs, corsages and boutonnieres as well as in Hawaiian flower leis.
Dendrobiums are the least sensitive type of orchids to ethylene damage. Some varieties may drop flower buds and show transparent petals after exposure to ethylene.
Pest & Disease Information
Botrytis (small circular pinkish or brown spots), and Anthracnose (small round black spots on petals) flower blight can occur on petals. Good sanitation and humidity management helps to control.
Chilling sensitivity/ damage. Damage to pollen cap which causes premature wilting. Water stress causes premature flower drop.
