Design Tips
Veronica adds a wild and natural design element to floral creations with height and gorgeous texture. Used as accent or line flower in bouquets and arrangements, Veronica also works well for bridal bouquets and corsages. Be sure to hydrate well prior to designing and create arrangements as close to event as possible to keep flowers fresh. Any leaves that may fall below the water level should be stripped to avoid contaminating the vase solution and rotting stems. A very thirsty crop, check flower food solution levels often, replenish as needed. Use FloraLife® Finishing Touch or FloraLife® Crowning Glory* sprays when designs are complete to keep them fresh and hydrated.
Ethylene Sensitivity
Some varieties are ethylene sensitive.
Pest & Disease Information
Veronica is susceptible to many diseases, including rust, cucumbus mosaic virus, powdery mildew, downy mildew and Smut. Botrytis sensitivity depends upon the variety, some have low susceptibility while others are susceptible.
Troubleshooting
Use anti-ethylene treatment, limit storage time to a maximum of 5 days, allow good airflow between stems when in solution, keep stems upright during storage and transport, and hydrate daily. Monitor solution levels daily as this crop is very thirsty and requires a lot of solution to avoid dehydration.
