Removing all silicone-based oils, FloraLife® LeafShine supports company’s 2025 Sustainability Plan goals.

WALTERBORO, S.C. – September 1, 2021 – FloraLife, a division of Smithers-Oasis Company, and worldwide leader in providing solutions throughout the flower journey from propagation to presentation, announces its reformulated, silicone-free LeafShine product for shining and enhancing plant and fresh cut flower foliage. The new formulation, containing 100 percent natural oils, will initially be available in central and eastern Europe, with other regions to follow.

The silicone-free reformulation of LeafShine is another initiative that supports the goals identified in the company’s 2025 Sustainability Plan. The sustainability initiative is a long-term plan targeted for 2025 that implements the reduce, re-use, recycle and respect principles in five commitment areas: climate change, water stewardship, product portfolio, sustainable packaging and stakeholder awareness.

“Our reformulated, silicone-free LeafShine is an example of our commitment to the product portfolio initiatives in our long-term sustainability plan to address our impact on the planet and society,” said Jim Daly, Vice President, FloraLife/Grower Global Operations and Corporate Research.  “By reformulating this popular product with 100 percent natural oils and removing the silicone, we are still able to provide our customers with the same performance that they have come to expect from LeafShine.”

Designed for the entire floral industry from the professional to the consumer, LeafShine is a spray that adds an appealing shine to hard leaf foliage, plants and fresh cut foliage and flower leaves. The reformulated version of LeafShine has the same functionality as the original silicone version but contains 100 percent natural oils instead.

LeafShine provides a natural shine that removes and keeps water spots and calcium deposits away, keeps foliage clean longer and reduces leaf water evaporation. Available in a 750-ml spray container, the ready-to-use LeafShine has a scent-free formula that enhances foliage’s appearance for longer enjoyment.

The FloraLife® brand includes a complete line of products that support the entire cut-flower distribution chain from harvest to vase; from growers to wholesalers and from supermarkets and retail shops to the consumer. FloraLife® branded products provide the ultimate enjoyment experience for the end consumer with solutions for pretreatment, hydration, transport and storage, and flower food solutions for nourishment and conditioning.
